The new scheme aims to bring back oranges at half time

Half-time oranges are a quintessential part of the British game. But they are in danger of disappearing for good.

As oranges have vanished from our touchlines, they’ve been replaced by less healthy alternatives: sweets, chocolate, fizzy drinks and more.

We are asking every kids’ football team in Britain to bring back half-time oranges.

During the 2013/14 football season, we are distributing tens of thousands of free fruit to kids’ clubs across the country, and millions of discount vouchers, too. Teams can join the scheme by signing the nationwide Jaffa Pledge to eat fruit at half time. Click here to go to the website and find out more about the scheme.

The scheme is being piloted in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, where every children's team is getting free fruit every match day for the 2013/14 season.
