St John Rigby got off to a flying start with Ben Bolton firing inches wide of the right hand post on 4 minutes.

Ben Bolton had another shot minutes later again wide of the target.

GOAL for St John Rigby!!! 12 minutes gone there was a corner whipped in to the back post where it was parried out by Josh Helm to Ben Rodgers who fired an absolute rocket into the roof of the net from close range.

Half chance from Sparsholt on 20 minutes after a long spell of possession, Oli Bailey’s shot from outside the box was easily saved.

Shot from Sparsholt’s Ed Chappe inches wide of the right hand post.

Sparsholt responded positively to falling behind and retained possession and controlled the game playing some nice football.

Free kick on edge of box for Sparsholt taken by David Jerrard was flicked past the far post by Michael Donovan.

On 32 minutes a superb run from Sparsholt’s Tommy Wright down the wing eventually was crossed in for Ed Chappe who couldn’t find the finish from a tight angle.

Another free kick on edge of box for Sparsholt, Ed Chappe takes it but he hit the drilled shot straight against the wall.

GOAL from Sparsholt!!! 41 minutes gone and Oli Bailey scored from the edge of the box at the second time of asking after his first shot was blocked.

Cross from Michael Donovan was put out for a corner, which was cleared out to Tommy Wright for a second attempt which was blocked and put out for another corner.

Quick free kick from Sparsholt on edge of box was taken but hit straight at the keeper.

GOAL from Sparsholt!!! Right on the brink of half time, Ed Chappe had a powerful effort from 30 yards which was luckily deflected into bottom corner after sending Thomas Hull the wrong way.

HALF-TIME: St John Rigby College 1-2 Sparsholt College.

St John Rigby had the better of play for the first 10 minutes but after the goal it was all one way traffic as Sparsholt dominated the game. They thoroughly deserved their 2-1 advantage going into half time.

GOAL from Sparsholt!!! A great one two on the edge of the box, which lead to Tommy Wright having an effort spilled and followed up by David Jerrard on the rebound. 60 minutes gone.

Caution in the 63rd minutes. Ben Rodgers was booked after poor challenge on the far side of the pitch.

GOAL from St John Rigby!!! Error by the Sparsholt keeper welcomed the challenge from Ben Bolton and the effort is fired in the top left corner.

Sense of urgency followed after the goal as St John Rigby was pushing for an equaliser.

A 30 yard strike from St John Rigby’s Jack Hurst was tipped round the post in the 77th minute.

No real chances in the second half half as both defensive lines looked solid. Both teams were limiting each other effort outside the box.

Caution in the 81st minute. Jack Hurst rugby tackles a Sparsholt man from behind as they were breaking on the counter attack.

Caution in the 83rd minute. Ryan Murray booked for poor sliding challenge.

Great through ball from Hilary Ndagurwa to Keiron Stephens who was denied at the near post.

Caution in the 88th minute. Charlie Gunson was booked after he mistimed a tackle.

Free kick from Rigby was whipped in from far out but was easily gathered by the keeper in the 89th minute.

Shot under pressure from Sparsholt’s Hilary Ndagurwa easily saved.

3 minutes added time.

Sparsholt College lift the trophy

No chances in extra time as Sparsholt retained the possession and ran down the clock.

FULL-TIME: St John Rigby College 2-3 Sparsholt College.

Sparsholt are crowned Champions! They thoroughly deserve their victory; the game was much more comfortable than the score line reflects. Sparsholt dominated the game for very long periods; they were comfortable on the ball and managed to carve several openings in St John Rigby’s defence.
