Lincolnshire Under 16 Schoolboy squad were delighted to bump into former Liverpool, Real Madrid and England international, Steve McManaman, at Wetherby Services whilst travelling to their ESFA Under 16 Inter County Trophy fixture against Cleveland Schoolboys, this evening.

McManaman stopped to chat with the boys and wish them good luck ahead of the kick-off at Northfield School, Billingham - 6.00 pm.

We will see if meeting the former the former red will inspire the East Midlanders to victory!

McManaman is no stranger to County Schools' Football as he represented Merseyside Schoolboys back in 1995-1996.  The team sheet below is from an Under 15 Inter County fixture against Staffordshire during that season.  McManaman was listed as shirt number 14.  Also in the same Merseyside team was Mike Sheron who went on to play for Manchester City in the Premier League.
