UEFA Under 17 Women's Euro Championship

The countdown to the UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship in England can now truly begin. The draw has been made, the venues and fixtures have been confirmed and the tournament is now less than four weeks away.

Tournament hosts, England will be joined in group A by Italy, Austria and Portugal, whilst the top two spots in group B will be fought for between Germany, Scotland, France and Spain.

The draw was conducted in Burton Town Hall on Thursday 24 October and was preceded by a coaching session taking place at Outwoods Primary School in Burton. Retired former England captain Faye White and 93-times capped winger Sue Smith, familiar as BBC pundits as well as for their on-field exploits, were on hand to talk to the children before heading to the venue to make the draw.

Speaking at the draw, Club England and Tournament Director Adrian Bevington commented: “I would like to thank UEFA for awarding us the honour of staging this event in our 150th year. We have spent the year celebrating the breadth of the work The FA does from stellar senior England internationals at Wembley to recognising the achievements of our grassroots volunteers at a football match at Buckingham Palace organised by the Duke of Cambridge. While we are rightly proud of our wonderful history we are also very much focused on the future. This tournament is a fitting finale to the year because it is all about developing the stars of tomorrow.”
