Andy Williams - England Under 18 Schools' Team Manager

Andy Williams, England Manager

esfa.co.uk once again caught up with England Under 18 Schools' Team Manager, Andy Williams, ahead of tonight's Centenary Shield match against Wales at Yeovil Town FC.

Andy, enthusiastic as ever, said, "Having been beaten by Northern Ireland in our last outing, a game that happened to be our first competitive international of the season, fans and observers may be mistaken for believing that there is added expectation upon us to perform and get a result in this game. For me the result of tonight's game against Wales will not change a single thing - it will not change who we are as people or who we are as players. I have said it before and I will say it again, I have the most incredible squad; they are extremely talented footballers, and even better people.

I am very proud of the achievements of my squad so far. The result against Northern Ireland was an unexpected blip, but that's football and we have to deal with downs as much as the ups. I am confident that on our day we are better than any opposition we will face. Today is the latest opportunity for us to show that. We just happen to be at home and there just happens to be a large crowd coming to support us. I want my players to enjoy the moment and express their talent and then let's see who's the best side!"

Tickets are still avaiable for the match which kicks-off at Huish park at 7.00 pm.  If you would like to come along to Yeovil to support the boys, tickets can be purchased at £5 for adults and £2 for children.  A walk-in gate will be in operation.
