Mid Oxfordshire Schools’ U15 team caused a major upset in last night's Semi-Final when they beat Liverpool 2-1, after extra time, at Chipping Norton Football Club.
Liverpool took the lead on 13 minutes when the Mid Oxon goalkeeper fumbled the ball and Liverpool’s Luis Kennedy was on hand to tap in from close range.
That is the way the score stayed until the last minute of added time when Jacob Hughes broke through and slotted past the Liverpool keeper to send the tie into extra time. In the first period of extra time, Jacob Hughes headed a dramatic winner into the top corner to send the home supporters into ecstasy.
Mid Oxfordshire will now face Dacorum Schools’ FA in this season’s final, which will guarantee a new name on the trophy since its inception in 1905.
