ESFA Under 18 Schools' Trophy Girls' Champions 2011 - Thurstable School

Champions 2011 - Thurstable School (Colchester & North East Essex SFA)

Wednesday 16 March saw Thurstable School (Colchester & North East Essex SFA) lift the ESFA Under 18 Schools’ Trophy for Girls after defeating current holders, Balby Carr Community Sports College (Doncaster Schools’ FA), 1-0 at Norwich City’s Carrow Road.

The deadlock wasn’t broken until the 65th minute, when Maegan Doyle skipped through two or three challenges from the half way line and unleashed a superb effort from just outside the penalty area into the corner of the net.

John Appleby, the ESFA Vice Chairman, was on hand to present the trophy to the school from Essex.
