Unfortunately, this match had to be moved off the main Manchester City Stadium pitch and moved to the reserve team ground which is adjacent to the main stadium. This was due to a deluge of rain during the girls’ final played prior to this match.

Approximately, a thousand spectators created an electric atmosphere at this intimate venue which the local school, Wright Robinson, appeared to thrive on.

Howard of Effingham got off to the worse possible start, when Oli Hinckley was shown a straight red card on three minutes. Wright Robinson capitalised on their numerical advantage with goals from Jordan Thompson and Kaide Moreland before the interval.

Howard of Effingham then pulled a goal back after the break through a Josh Gallagher free-kick. But then Wright Robinson sealed the win with further goals from Kaide Moreland and Josh Oguntayo.
