Northern Ireland Schoolboys celebrate victory against England

Northern Ireland Schoolboys

Northern Ireland went top of the Carnegie Centenary Shield league table on Monday night when they travelled to Colwyn Bay and defeated Wales 3-0.

The result now means that England must beat the Republic of Ireland at Waterford FC tomorrow night (Friday 24 April) to draw level on points with Northern Ireland and therefore, be declared joint winners of the Carnegie Shield with Northern Ireland this season.

If the England draw with the Republic of Ireland, then Northern Ireland will be crowned the outright winners. However, if the Republic of Ireland beat England then they will retain the Carnegie Centenary Shield for a second successive year.

Sky Sports will be showing live coverage of the match on Sky Sports 2, beginning at 7.30 pm.
