ESFA Boys Under 14 PlayStation Schools Cup

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School took on private school Repton on Tuesday 10th October at Ashbourne, Derbyshire in the ESFA Cup. With the odds against QEGS, they turned out a fantastic team performance to win 6-1.

Then game started out reasonably even with a midfield battle, but QEGS managed to force the game more and more into the Repton half, which produced 3 goals by half time. Repton hit the bar and had a shot clear off the line within seconds of each other with the score at 1-0.

The game was 3-1 to QEGS at half time with goals from Garcia, Edge-Lucas and Keeling; with a reply from Repton 3-minutes before half time.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School fitness and team ethic showed in the second half as they kept applying pressure in the Repton half. Three goals came in the half from Wilson, Edge-Lucas and a Keeling. There was little pressure on the QEGS goal from Repton in the second half which meant it was possible to rotate and rest players.

Queen Elizabeth Grammar School will play either Ecclesfield School or King Ecgbert School in the next round of the ESFA Boys Under 14 PlayStation Schools Cup. The ESFA would like to congratulate Queen Elizabeth Grammar School on their success in the competition so far. We would also like to congratulate Repton on their efforts this year and wish them luck in the competition next season.
