The 2017-18 season opens with news of the investment of £60,000 into this season’s Development Fund. Supported by the FA and designed to support new schools’ football activity, the fund opened for applications on Monday 18th September, with a closing date of 20th October.

Similar to the 2016/17 programme, the funding can support those succeeding in the competitive application process to create, for example, new leagues/divisions for primary schools’ pupils, disability football, futsal or even the creation of new District Associations, where they may not exist.

Last season saw over 70 organisations including schools, community trusts, local associations and county FA’s benefit from the funding. Funding was used to organise new opportunities for girls, children with disabilities, year 3/4 competitions and to increase futsal provision with a total of 1213 new teams and 9190 new participants.

Further details and full eligibility criteria can be found, along with the application form, on the ESFA website here. If you require any further information or would like to discuss your potential application before going ahead, please contact either Andy Weston or Kieren Laverick in our Development Team and they will be able to help you further.

Don’t forget – you only have until Friday 20 October to submit your application!

The ESFA are grateful to The FA for their continued support of our football development programme.
