Wokingham sit top of the Surrey League following wins in both their opening games of the season

8 October 2016

The first half of this early morning encounter saw both sides struggle to get into any sort of rhythm. Luckily for Wokingham, Muza allowed his side to finish the half with a 1-0 advantage moments after Kingston hit the bar from a brilliant free kick. Muza was the hero of the half after a slick two-touch passing move was finished by him calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

The second half was much more promising for Wokingham as they began moving the ball at a pace, with Smith switching the ball beautifully. Goode and Morgan were dangerous on either wing, however it was Morgan who found himself inside the six yard box and Waight's inviting low cross was slid across the line by the winger. Minutes later Waight then added his name to the scoresheet with a cool finish when through one on one.

Wokingham's solid defence allowed them to continue to stroll forwards. Kingsbury was determined to get his second of the season when he found himself with the ball at his feet and an empty bottom corner. Four goals, four different scorers and a clean sheet capped off a superb away day for the Berkshire boys. Wokingham now sit top of the Surrey League having won their opening two games of the season. Wokingham play Thurrock next at home in the first round of the Southern Counties Cup.

Congratulations to Wokingham on their fantastic start to the Season and good luck to both Wokingham and Kingston in their 2016-17 season!
