We are thrilled to announce that the ESFA U18 Schools’ Cup for Girls’ National Final, to be held at Burton Albion FC on Wednesday 16 March will be supported by two fantastic Women’s Super League Players, to help encourage and inspire not only the teams involved, but also other aspiring female footballers across the country.

Birmingham City Ladies’ Kerys Harrop and Doncaster Belles’ Emily Simpkins will be attending the 4:30pm KO match to help cheer on Thomas Telford School and the John Madejski Academy and take on the duty of presenting medals and awards to the players on the pitch, after the match. The Women’s Super League players will also offer some words of congratulations to the teams just prior to their post match meal in Burton’s Hospitality Suite.

The ESFA event on Wednesday is due to be a true celebration of girls’ football and will be used as our launch of the upcoming Girls’ Football Week in April (25th – 1st May). Our aim is to not only create two fantastic National Finals for our U18 College and School teams, but also provide the opportunity for other schools, nationwide, to attend the events with their girls’ teams to take part in a Continental Tyre festival in the Burton grounds, which will give them free entry to either of the girls’ finals as well as some junior leaders courses which are being held at St Georges’ Park.

The ESFA will also use the day to set the start of our latest partnership working with She Kicks magazine, furthering our reach into the girls’ footballing community.

Tickets to both the Girls’ Colleges (Accrington & Rossendale College v Solihull College) and Girls’ Schools (Thomas Telford v John Madejski Academy) will be available to purchase from the Burton Albion Ticket Office on the day for just £2 children and £4 adults. Alternatively, the match will also be broadcast live online and for free, via our ESFA YouTube channel, which you can subscribe to here. Matches will feature action replays and full commentary, with commentary on the second match being supported by Kerys Harrop!

353 Photography will, of course, be on hand during the matches to capture all the fast-paced moments on film and photos will be available to view and purchase online, following the match.
