Anthony Gell School v The Fallibroome Academy

The U14 girls' team from Anthony Gell School in Derbyshire beat The Fallibroome Academy 3-2 in a fantastic game on Friday 6 November. Although they went down 0-1 in the middle of the first half, Madison Higton crossed a sensational ball towards the left hand post and Annelise Rountree tapped it in perfectly to draw level.

Georgia Winson then took the girls into the lead with a great goal which, although controversial, was onside. In the second half Georgia Winson again found herself 1v1 with the keeper after picking up a magical ball from Amie Johnson. The ball rebounded off the keeper and landed at Georgia’s feet to score our third goal.

Although Fallibroome came back at the girls in the last 10 minutes of the game they stood firm and with strength from Alicia Winson particularly, they deservedly won the game. Well done to all for a tremendous game. On to round 4!!!!

The ESFA would like to thank Tess Mitchell from Anthony Gell for submitting this report on their third round win! They will now take on either Bolsover or Tupton Hall School in the fourth round of the competition.
