The growth of women’s and girls’ football continues to blossom with the announcement of a partnership between the English Schools Football Association (ESFA) and She Kicks magazine. The arrangement will see She Kicks provide greater coverage of girls’ football at school level.

“She Kicks has always been about showcasing girls’ and women’s football of all levels. Everyone knows the current stars like Lucy Bronze and Fran Kirby and we hope to unearth the next generation of stars sooner rather than later. We know that participation levels at the clubs are on the rise and we see the great work the ESFA are doing for girls’ football and we want to support that,” explains Anthony Nolan, Commercial Manager at She Kicks Ltd.

ESFA CEO Andrea Chilton comments on the deal. “We are delighted here at the ESFA to be working in partnership with She Kicks to promote girls’ and women’s football. Girls’ football is now growing in popularity very quickly in England, and the more we celebrate and promote this, the greater our successes will be. She Kicks is a great vehicle for sharing and celebrating, and we are proud to be one of the “friends of She Kicks”.

The deal also includes the distribution of She Kicks magazine to schools that offer the provision for girls’ football and a range of discounts on offer for students wanting to subscribe to the magazine. She Kicks will also help promote what’s happening at your school and within the ESFA structure.

“If your school caters for girls’ football, we’d love to hear from you. It’s not about the results per say; we want to hear about the great work being undertaken by the schools. Perhaps it’s an increase in participation levels or you have a player selected for a national squad or if you’re looking to go on tour we’d love to hear from you”.

She Kicks, is the online community and bi-monthly magazine for girls’ and women’s football in the UK. Established in 1996 as On The Ball magazine, it has seen the game develop and grow in popularity. Long may it continue!
