On Friday 12 December, ESFA office staffed donned our Christmas jumpers to support Christmas Jumper day 2014, raising money and awareness for both Save the Children and our partner charity, Be Child Cancer Aware.

Be Child Cancer Aware, our partner charity, have a mission to provide information to raise awareness of cancer in children, teenagers and young adults through their campaign, in order to help combat late diagnosis. You can visit their Just Giving page here if you would like to find out more and donate to their incredibly worthy cause.

To date, Save the Children have raised over £1.1m through the Christmas Jumper campaign and we are proud to have been a part of their efforts.

Other ESFA affiliated schools and counties across the country did their own bit and we received this excellent photo of Donal Townson, Tameside Schools’ FA secretary wearing his jumper whilst serving Christmas dinner to pupils at school. Thank you for sending it in!

We will be coming up with new ways of raising both funds and awareness for Be Child Cancer Aware in the new year and will keep you posted of the new initiatives the ESFA are implementing in support of this.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of us at the ESFA.
