We are pleased to announce that former pupil of The Forest School in Wokingham, Jake Cooper, has been signed for Reading’s first team and played an incredible game on Saturday 29 November, by all accounts. You can read the match report from BBC Sport here!
Jake, shown third from the right in the picture, played for Forest School in the ESFA U14 Cup Final at Old Trafford in 2009. Unfortunately on that occasion, Forest lost to Audenshaw, however they went on to play them one month later at the SAFIB British Championships at Lilleshall and claimed victory.
James Eaglesham, one of Jake’s former football teachers informed us that he and some colleagues went to watch Reading’s match against Bolton on Saturday 6 December and told the ESFA how great it was to see him play.
We love hearing success stories of players that have started off their career playing in ESFA competitions, like many famous names before them. If you have any success stories, match reports or any other information you think we may be interested in, please email them to sarah.kearney@schoolsfa.com.
Congratulations Jake and good luck in the future with Reading!
