Danone Nations’ Cup – Team England in Brazil

The Danone Nations’ Cup is the world’s biggest international football tournament for 10 to 12-year olds. From England to Indonesia, China to Mexico, 32 countries participate each year in making the dreams of some 2.5 million boys and girls come true through a unique and unforgettable experience.

As proud sponsors of the ESFA’s Danone Nations’ U11 Schools’ Cup, Danone have taken 12 boys, aged 10 to 12 as Team England, winners of the Inter-District tournament, to Brazil to play in the Arena De Sao Paulo, in the Danone Nations Cup World Finals 2014!

The team, crowned champions of the U11’s Inter-District English Schools’ FA tournament in May, have spent the last four months preparing for the finals including spending two days at St George’s Park, the English Football Association's national football centre.

Team England will face 31 other teams from across the world, including the best young players from China, Germany, Argentina, USA and Spain on the 16th November in the 62,601 capacity Arena De Sao Paulo where this years’ FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony took place.

The Danone Nations Cup, is the world’s largest tournament for 10-12 years olds which has been FIFA approved and represents a once in a lifetime opportunity for young players. It boasts tournament ambassadors such as John Scales, former Tottenham, Liverpool and England Centre Back and former France and Real Madrid Captain Zinedine Zidane.

Each year, 2.5m children worldwide take part in the competition and between five and six thousand schools compete in the English leg, run by the English Schools’ Football Association.
