The FA has changed the standard code of rules regarding the use of 3G FTP’s and the rules will become effective from 2014/15 season. They have produced guidance notes that will appear on TheFA.com along with a link to a live register of approved pitches for season 2013/14 - http://3g.thefa.me.uk/

The guidance note outlines the process by which pitches need to be tested and approved to appear on The FA Register along with a list of companies that can conduct the testing and a price list. The prices have been negotiated for this season and are more competitive than the usual rate charged.

The register will develop over time and will be a useful tool for identifying sites, pitch sizes and will have the ability for The FA to remind sites of the date of expiry and to advise that testing needs to be carried out. They will keep providing updates on the website capabilities and functions.

The FA has also produced a guide to the development of 3G Football Turf Pitches which includes key design principles and layouts/markings this also appears on ThaFA.com. Should you have any questions please contact Mark Pover or email facilitiesinfo@thefa.com
