Queens' School Winners

Both teams descended on Pride Park, home of Derby County Football Club, to contest for the ESFA U13 Schools’ Cup for Girls National Trophy.

The game started off fast with chances at both ends for both teams. Queens advancing and getting a chance and then being put under pressure by Laurence Jackson instantly.

In the 15th minute of the game the best chance came to Laurence Jackson as Ellie Beckett hit the ball from inside the box but she hit the ball just wide of the goal.

4 minutes later and Queens’ had the same chance to go ahead. Cassandra Chase shoots from inside her box but hits the ball wide keeping the game at 0-0.

Queens’ then score first with a goal by Julia Waller. The ball is played across from the right and the keeper comes to collect, but ends up in no man’s land as Julia side foots into the net behind.

This was then followed by heavy pressure by Laurence Jackson to get the quick equaliser.

Both teams then were pressing for the next goal but before they knew it the half time whistle went and the teams went in at 1-0 to Queens’ School.

The teams emerged from the tunnel for the second half which started fast again with the ball in the Queens’ School’s possession.

After 6 minutes of the second half played, Queens’ get their second of the day as Lilly Clark shoots from the edge of the box and the ball travels fast into the back of the net to put them 2 goals up.

2 minutes later and Queens’ get another goal. This time Jordan Littleboy shoots on her right foot inside the box to put the ball past the diving Laurence Jackson goal keeper.

For the next few minutes it was all Queens’ as Laurence Jackson could not get hold of the ball to attack as the Queens’ players would not let the ball slip their possession.

3 minutes from time and Queens’ get their fourth goal of the day. Jordan Littleboy gets her second goal by hitting the ball hard inside the box to put it past the goal keeper.

One minute later and Jordan gets her hat-trick. She takes the ball into the box and turns the defender and slides the ball towards goal hitting the post and going into the net.

2 minutes later and the referee draws the game to an end with the score at 5-0 to Queens’ School.

Both teams were presented with their mementoes by ESFA Council Member, John Appleby, before Jordan Littleboy of Queens’ School lifted the trophy to confirm her school being named National Champions.
