I. THE GENERIC LAWS

ARTICLE 1

The DANONE NATIONS CUP ENGLAND FINAL (DNC ENGLAND FINAL) is organised by Danone UK and the English Schools FA (ESFA). It is being held at St Georges Park (The FA’s new National Football Centre) on Sunday June 9th

To be eligible, each player must have signed and submitted the image rights release form presented in March 2013 (see pp.10 & 11)

ARTICLE 2

5 teams will participate, being the eligible players from the winners of each of the 5 ESFA DNC FINALS (The festival of finals being held at the Hive London, Camrose Avenue, Edgware, HA8 6AG, May 11th 2013), plus additional players from those Finals where needed and according to the rules below.

ARTICLE 3

All players participating in the 2013 DNCEF (and subsequent DNC World Final) must have been born between 01/01/2001 and 31/12/2002.

To be eligible to participate as one member of each of the 5 teams that will compete at the DNC England Finals (DNCEF) being held at St Georges Park (The FA’s new National Football Centre) on Sunday June 9th, players MUST have been born on or between 1st January 2001 and 31st December 2002.

Unfortunately this will preclude a number of players but it reflects the strict international rules every country must adhere to.

All eligible players from each of the national winning teams will automatically qualify.

Where additional players are required to be added to those from the winning teams, names will be selected from the eligible losing finalists. This process will involve drawing names where there is more than one appropriate player for any position required.

Where players are still required, names will be selected (in the same way) from the two losing semi-finalist teams and / or drawn accordingly (and so on).

Each of the 5 squads participating in the DNC ENGLAND FINALS will be comprised of 12 players.

The competition is 9 v 9 with 3 substitutes.

A league format will be followed with each team playing the four other teams. The league winner will qualify to represent England.

For the avoidance of doubt, each 12 player squad must be made up of 1 goalkeeper, 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and three forwards.

The name of each team participating in the DNCEF is determined by the name of each of the five winning teams of the ESFA DNC NATIONAL FINALS, with the winning coach managing each team.

It is essential that every participant can provide documentation of proof of age. They must also be a British citizen.

It is also essential that Fairplay and Respect is adhered to and observed at all times (both participants and family / friends etc). The organisers retain the right to take whatever action they deem appropriate in all and any circumstances with their decision being final.

Image rights release forms will need to have been completed and various health notes and other relevant forms will be provided for submission to the international organising committee once we establish the representative squad.

ARTICLE 4

The referees and assistant referees will be designated and supervised by the ESFA.

ARTICLE 5

Each player that qualifies to represent England at the DNC World Finals, must ensure that they are able to make themselves available for an England team training camp in August – currently scheduled for taking place between (and including) 19th August and 23rd August at Repton, Derbyshire. Details TBC

They must additionally be available to participate in the DNC World Final, being held in London between (and including) the 4th September and 8th September.

ARTICLE 6

Competition Format

First phase:

The 5 teams will play each other once in a league format competition.

The team that finishes top of the league after all games have been played will qualify to represent England at the DNC World Final.

Where two (or more) teams are tied on equal points, goal difference will decide the winning team.

Where goal difference is equal, the head to head results will be considered.

If equal, most goals scored will determine winner.

Finally (and if needed), a penalty shoot-out will be held. 5 penalties will be taken followed by ‘sudden death’ if tied (after initial 5 penalties).

Each team will play 4 matches in the tournament.

ARTICLE 7

A team consists of 12 players, of which 9 including the goalkeeper can play at the same time.

ARTICLE 8

The duration of the matches will be 15 minutes each (matches will last 15 minutes each with no break, no change of ends.)

ARTICLE 9

Matches are classified by earning points:

Match won: 3 points

Match won by forfeit: 3 points (= 3-0 victory)

Match tied: 1 point

Match lost: 0 point

Match lost by forfeit: 0 point (= 3-0 loss)

ARTICLE 10

The squad qualifying to represent England in the DNC World Final in September will require that an additional 4 players are selected to be on standby (in case of illness, injury etc. to squad members before the DNC World Finals).

This will be determined by drawing the name of one goalkeeper, one defender, one midfielder and one striker from all the remaining players who participated in the DNC ENGLAND FINALS.

i.e. players will be drawn from 4 pools of players determined by their positions.

ARTICLE 11

Before each match and during the warm up, the referee will toss a coin, and the winning captain (wearing an armband) will choose either the right to kick off or the side of the pitch on which his goalkeeper will be located.

ARTICLE 12

For any red-card violation, the player will automatically be suspended from the following match.

2 yellow cards received by the same player will automatically lead to a one-game suspension which will be effective from the following game.

The ESFA reserves the right to increase the penalty.

ARTICLE 13

To begin a match, a team must have a minimum of 7 players. If send-offs occur during a match, a minimum of 7 players per team is required for the match to continue.

ARTICLE 14

All disputes will be decided by a commission designated by the ESFA.

The ESFA reserves the right to punish teams and / or individuals during and outside the competition.
