David Ebberson Signs with the ESFA!

David Ebberson, the new ESFA Marketing & Communications Manager
Appointment of the New Marketing and Communications Manager helps the ESFA take another step forward.
The announcement was made on January 9th that the English Schools’ Football Association are pleased to welcome David Ebberson to the team. He will oversee the development, promotion and exposure of the association throughout the Country, working closely with many School and Football League partners to expand the reaches of our National Cup Competitions.
Ebberson, 25, has a vast amount of experience working within and around football, already having worked in three separate countries throughout his career. Having read for an undergraduate degree in International Football Management at Bucks New University, David learned many fundamental skills relating to governance, administration and development of football clubs and organisations. He will be using these very skills to help move the team forward and create invaluable links with new partners for the ESFA.
Furthering his education with a Masters Degree in Coaching Science from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC), David was able to focus on his true passion of coaching. During his time in Wales he steered the university side to a Conference Championship, a National Conference final and a third place conference finish in just two seasons.
An avid football fan, and a studious coach, he has taken opportunities wherever they have arisen to better his knowledge of the game and gain an understanding of how professional football clubs run. From serving drinks at Wycombe Wanderers, to being a ball boy at Chelsea training, professional academy visits in the US and UK, and most things in between, David feels he is equipped to take on any new challenge that is brought his way.
On being offered his new position within the English Schools Football Association, David stated:
“I am extremely proud and happy to be welcomed into this fantastic organisation. I see it as a great opportunity and a perfect foundation from which to springboard the ESFA into national prominence. We have an extraordinary history here, and a track record of being involved with some of the country’s finest footballers.
I feel as though the association has all of the factors needed to go from strength to strength, we have a great team of individuals here, support from the Football Association and of course, St. George’s Park (the new National Training Centre opening in the summer) just 30 miles down the road. It is very exciting times for all involved, and we are looking forward to a great year!
After spending a number of years working on different coaching projects within the U.S, I am glad to be back in the country I call home and working toward the future of English Football, doing my part for the Three Lions”
