The English Schools’ FA is delighted to announce that Newcastle United Football Club has agreed to host the Under 18 Centenary Shield match between England and Scotland on Thursday 12 April at the Sports Direct Arena (St James’ Park), kick-off 7.35 pm.
It will be the first Schoolboy International to be staged at Newcastle United FC since Michael Owen netted his self-confessed best ever goal in a 2-1 win against Scotland in 1995. An impressive 11,300 spectators were on hand to witness the lively striker ghost past most of the Scotland team and smash the ball into the back of the net.
