Potential candidates for this new appointment within the English Schools’ FA have until 5:00pm on Wednesday 14th September to submit their applications and play a leading role in protecting children within Schools’ Football

The English Schools’ Football Association has 450 District and 45 County Schools’ Football Associations affiliated to it. The ESFA is in turn affiliated to The Football Association and therefore comes under the strict guidelines of The FA’s Safeguarding Policy. All ESFA affiliated FAs must comply with FA and Government rules and regulations regarding Child Care and therefore this new role will be instrumental in bringing all the Associations into line.

The NCWO will have other tasks to complete such as keeping the national register of Adults other Teachers working in Schools’ Football, monitoring and verifying CRB applications and generally dealing with Child Protection and good practice issues.

Reporting to the CEO in the HQ in Stafford, the NCWO post is on a 0.5 basis (2 ½ days a week) and will be mainly home based with visits to Stafford on a regular basis. The NCWO will also liaise with County FA CWOs and take advice from the Safeguarding Department at the FA.

Candidates should be of graduate calibre with at least some experience in social welfare care and /or child protection within a sport. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an FA enhanced CRB check and will ideally have an understanding of The FA’s National Game Strategy. Short listing will take place on immediately after the application deadline of 14 September and successful candidates will be notified for an interview
