York & District SFA
The final of this season’s ESFA Under 13 Inter Association Trophy was played at MK Dons Football Club on Monday 23 May 2011.
York & District SFA were quick out of the blocks and hit the cross-bat twice within the first fifteen minutes. However, York did not have to wait long before they took the lead as Ben Hirst slotted home from inside the penalty area on 21 minutes.
York went 2-0 before the interval, when Premier League referee, Dermot Gallagher, who was refereeing his second ESFA National Cup Final this season, awarded a penalty kick to the Yorkshire team. Joe McCormick duly converted the penalty and with no goals added to the scoreline, ensured that York & District SFA earned their first national title at any age group.
