The English Schools’ FA will host the Republic of Ireland, in the final SAFIB Centenary Shield match of the season, on Friday 30th April 2010 at the Pirelli Stadium, home to Burton Albion FC, kick-off 7.40 pm.

This match will be the finale to what is expected to be another mouth-watering campaign. Last season, England snatched a late winner at Waterford United FC against the Republic of Ireland through Jacob Baptista (Liverpool Community College and Merseyside CSFA). The goal meant that England leap-frogged the Republic to join Northern Ireland at the top of the Centenary Shield standings, and therefore, crowned joint winners for 2009.

The English Schools’ FA would like to take the opportunity of thanking members of the Burton & District Schools’ FA organising committee for their efforts in staging this match. The gates will open at 6.00 pm with pre-match entertainment commencing at 6.30 pm.
