Suffolk U16 Boys into Quarter Finals after thriller

U16 Inter County Trophy: Suffolk 3-2 Cambridgeshire

The impressive Suffolk Schools convincingly maintained their 2 year unbeaten run with a match winning goal by Jack Edwards (Thurston School), 10 minutes from the final whistle at Ipswich Wanderers FC, yesterday afternoon.

Edwards had put Suffolk ahead with his first goal from a corner 5 minutes after the Kick-off. Cambridgeshire's Watsonequalised 14 minutes later fromthe spot.

Undeterred Suffolkpersistently attacked and gained a 2 -1 half time lead through a well taken Ryan Titlow (Stowupland School) shot.

For much of second half Cambridgeshire played well and attackedskilfully. On 28minutes the visitorswere rewarded whenMcInally made it 2-2 threatening extra time.

But the Suffolk Boys' two-year experience together resultedin theirattack which brought the Edwards' winning goal and a place in the Quarter Final Drawwhich will be published herelater this week.
