2009 Champions: Audenshaw School
Audenshaw School (Tameside SFA) tasted glory on Saturday morning as they lifted the U14 Premier League Cup at Manchester United’s Theatre of Dreams after beating Forest School (East Berkshire SFA) 2-1.
Nearly 1000 spectators witnessed Audenshaw fly out of the traps and take a two nil lead within fifteen minutes. Dean Partington opened the scoring after just 4 minutes with a cool side foot after good work by tricky left winger Zack Clough.
Audenshaw extended their lead on 14 minutes when Niall Maher headed home a dangerous inswinging free kick.
Forest School then pulled one back through Valdy Simeon who raced through and finished coolly past Audenshaw keeper, James Dean.
The second half was a tight affair, with chances few and far between. Audenshaw supporters were kept on the edge of their seats when the fourth official held up seven minutes of injury time, but a tiring Forest team could not capitalise on the extra time.
