The English Schools’ FA is pleased to announce that Ed Balls, Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families, will once again make the draw for the National Rounds of the ESFA Minute Maid U13 Schools’ Cup on Tuesday 27 January 2009 at Craven Cottage, home to Fulham Football Club.

The MP also made last year’s draw for this prestigious competition and was assisted by Sir Trevor Brooking, Director of Football Development at The FA, and Norwich City legend and former Under 18 England Schoolboy International, Jeremy Goss.

This year Ed Balls will be assisted by George Cohen, who was a member of Sir Alf Ramsey’s England World Cup winning team in 1966. George, who gained 37 caps playing at right back for his country between 1964 and 1967 also played for Fulham Football Club and represented The Cottagers an amazing 459 times, scoring 6 goals in the process.

Manchester United’s legendary winger George Best once described Cohen as "the best full back I ever played against". While Sir Alf Ramsay once described Cohen as "England's greatest right back".

The draw for the National Rounds of this season’s U13 Minute Maid Cup will be published here on Wednesday 28 January.
