Together with California Raisins, the ESFA has created this award scheme to give teachers and coaches a bigger opportunity to get pupils involved in football.

There are now 9 awards and certificates, from 1 star onwards, throughout primary and secondary schools and they start with 1 just for involvement – no need to be in the school team or even the reserves – and no one is tested. It really is available to anyone who gets involved in football.

The awards then progress through to improvement and excellence into team and district awards. Then it’s on to bronze, silver and gold for the secondary schools. Anyone can achieve the first 3 levels. Plus, there’s a special merit award, open to anyone, which rewards spirit, conduct, effort and attitude.
