Devon - U16 Inter County Winners
Devon County Schools’ FA won the ESFA U16 Inter County Trophy (sponsored by the Premier League) after beating Leicestershire 5-4 on penalties at Birmingham City Football Club last Tuesday, after the score finished 2-2 at full-time.
It is the third successive season that Devon has won this competition after previously beating Lancashire in 2006 and Durham in 2007.
Extra time could not be played because of fading light, therefore, the match was decided by penalties. Jordan Trott, Dan Keating, Tom Moody, Aaron Dawson and Noah Keats all converted penalties to ensure the trophy would travel back to the south-west again.
