Sussex Schools FA win the U18 Premier League Trophy 2007

Staffordshire Schools’ FA made it through to their first national final appearance in the Association’s history after sweeping aside Humberside emphatically at Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The deadlock was not broken until the 38 minute when a Humberside defender diverted the ball into his own net off a Staffordshire corner. Ashley Phillips and Simeon Lawrence made the score 3-0 to the home side going into the break.

After the interval it was all one way traffic. Paul Lister, the Staffordshire Captain, added a fourth, while Daniel Skelton further extended the lead with a brace. Spencer Gonnell, John Hodnett and Alex Barnfather completing the scoring.

Staffordshire will now play Sussex or Somerset in the final which will be held on Tuesday 13 May at St Andrews, Birmingham City FC. Kick-off time to be confirmed.
