FA Regulations and Laws of the Game (Law 4 and Law 5, IFAB decision 1): Relating to the wearing of under garments

“You must ensure that long sleeved under garments worn by players must be the same colour of the playing shirt being worn. It is prohibited to wear long sleeves under garments beneath a short-sleeve playing shirt. Thermal shorts must also be the same colour as the main colour of the shorts worn.

In addition, under garments and thermal shorts may contain clothing manufacturer’s marks but must not exceed an area of 20 centimetres and must not be visible outside playing kit during the period of the match.”

There is concern that despite this issue being raised previously there are continuing breaches. If any further incidents of this nature, after 19 February 2007, are brought to our attention we will refer the matter to the Compliance Department for them to take such action as they see fit.
