Lindsey Schoolboys picured before victory
The Lindsey School & Community Arts College are through to the last 64 of the ESFA U15 Boys National Cup after defeating Toll Bar BEC 4-1 recently.
The game was always set to be a passionate affair, with Lindsey keen to get revenge for their defeat by Toll Bar earlier on in the season. Both teams fielded strong line-ups, with several players from the Grimsby Town school of excellence on display.
The game kicked off in windy conditions, and Toll Bar settled first, maintaining possession without creating any real chances. Their best chance was a well-struck shot, which was tipped over by the Lindsey keeper.
Toll Bar drew first blood when they took the lead from a set piece. Clever movement in the box created space for a well taken finish from the Toll Bar centre-half.
Lindsey fought back well though, and equalised when a terrific run and cross by Luke Fanthorpe was met by Luke Dawson, who side-footed the ball into the roof of the net. TLS were now in the ascendancy, and Toll Bar were punished for failing to clear a corner when Tom Parker slammed the ball home for his first goal of the season to give Lindsey a half time lead.
After the break Lindsey took a giant step towards the fifth round when a breakaway gave Joe Hutchinson the chance from 25 yards, which he put in the bottom corner.
Toll Bar then pressed forward as they looked to get back into the game, but the Lindsey defence stood firm. As the game reached its climax Hutchinson claimed his second of the game to put Lindsey through.
Lindsey School now face a trip to All Saints RC School, Mansfield, in Round 5 after Christmas.
