Swansea secured a place in the Semi-Final of the ESFA U15 Inter Association Trophy, sponsored by the National Union of Teachers, with a convincing 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday (04 March) at the St Helens Stadium in Swansea.

Swansea went in 1-0 up at the break thanks to a Kieron Hayes strike. Luke Chapple added two more after the break to seal a convincing 3-0 win.

Swansea will now host Cambridge in the Semi-Finals. The English Schools' FA Competitions Committee has decided that this match shall be played on or before Saturday 18 March.

The last time Swansea reached the final of the Trophy was back in 1965 where they came up against Leicester Schools, which included a certain Peter Shilton. The first leg was held at the Vetch Field, then home to Swansea City FC. Green put the Leicester Boys 1-0 up before Lynn equalized in the second half for Swansea.

Lynn was again on target for Swansea in the second leg at Filbert Street in front of a crowd of 21,000. Leicester managed to concede no further goals that day, largely thanks to Peter Shilton. The East Midland outfit then went on to control the second half of the game and equalized through Glew. The aggregate score remained 2-2 and the Trophy was shared.
