The ESFA National Competitions Department preview some of the key fixtures in Saturday’s Round Four N.U.T. U15 Inter Association Trophy…

Notable ties include Bradford, who travel to Liverpool, for a battle of the 'big city' associations.  The previous round saw Liverpool defeat Stoke on Trent by a single goal from Divers 10 minutes before the final whistle.  Gornal had earlier put the Merseysiders 1-0 up before the break, before Stoke equalized early in the second half.  Meanwhile, Bradford also scraped through as they beat Warrington 2-1 after extra time with goals from Thomas Chapman and Lewis Chippendale.

Two famous old foes will go head to head in the West Midland derby as Wolverhampton entertain West Bromwich at the Goodyear Sports Ground for a Saturday morning kick-off.  This could prove to be a tight encounter as both sides will look to build on  their good defensive starts to the competition..  Wolverhampton have bagged 14 goals in just three Trophy games so far this season, while West Bromwich have managed a comparatively modest four in two after receiving a bye in the first round.

A trip to the seaside awaits Newcastle who travel to the north-west coast to take on Blackpool at the Blackpool Sports Arena for an 11.30 am kick-off.  A hat-trick from Mark Doninger and further goals from Ryan Walton and Matthew Earl saw the Geordies overcome north-west rivals Middlesbrough, after going behind early from a  Andrew McGuire goal for Boro’.

Other ties include:

  • Gateshead v Carlisle at Swalwell FC (11.00 am)
  • Bolton v Knowsley at Sharples School (10.30 am)
  • Newham v Luton at London Marathon Ground,  (10.30 am)
