ESFA Squad Members
The players selected for the England Squad for the forthcoming programme of international matches for 2010-2011 season are:
CSFA :: County Schools' Football Association
1 JOSHUA HART
Josh is in his second season with the international squad, although his appearances were limited last year due to illness. He also plays for Marine FC and states that Edwin van der Saar is his favourite player.
2 THOMAS BOAKYE
Position : Right Back / Right Midfield.
CSFA : Gloucestershire County Schools F.A.
School : Hartpury College, Hartpury.
Previous School : Right to Dream Academy, Accra, Ghana. Born : 10 May 1993 in Accra, Ghana.
Tom is also with us for a second year and is on a scholarship at the Gloucestershire College. He is currently on trial with Manchester City and hopes to sign for them on completing his studies. Tom has winner’s medals in the ESFA under 18 Colleges Trophy for the past 2 seasons.
3 JOSH GLOVER
Position : Left Back.
CSFA : Staffordshire County Schools F.A.
School : Newcastle-under-Lyme College.
Previous School : Betley Primary School, Crewe and Madley High School. Born : 7 July 1993, Stoke-on-Trent.
Like most of the squad Josh would like a career in professional football either as a player or a coach. Born in Stoke-on-Trent it is of no surprise he says that the Britannia Ground Stoke is his favourite ground!
4 CLIFF MOYO
Cliff is the third of our second year players. When his college studies are complete he would like to go to university to study Sports Sciences. He states that his proudest moment was starring for England in last year’s live televised game against Scotland at Carlisle United.
5 JAMIE SUMMERS
Jamie also plays centre back or in midfield for Kingstonian, and has represented his county in the F.A. County Youth Cup. Like Cliff would hope to go onto university to study Sports Sciences.
6 JACK VALLIS
Jack has also played in the F.A. County Youth Cup reaching the quarter finals this year with Wiltshire. He also plays for Shrewton United. A centre half who likes to model himself on Chelsea’s John Terry.
7 JOSH WHITE
Josh, has been the county skipper since under 15 and also plays for Taunton. He would like a career as either a personal trainer or a Nutritionist after studying at university.
8 JONNY EVANS
Has played for Hartlepool United Centre of Excellence and for Chester-Le-Street in the FA Youth Cup. A sporting Physical Education career beckons after university. Jonny enjoys playing snooker in his spare time.
9 JORDAN AYRIS
Position : Centre Forward.
CSFA : Oxfordshire County Schools F.A.
School : Bicester Community College.
Previous School : Brookside School, Bicester. Born : 10 December 1992, Oxford.
Jordan plays for Ardley Utd when not representing his county or college. He is studying Maths and hopes to go to university to gain qualifications to work in finance. He is also a keen cricketer.

Jack plays his other football for Forest Green Rovers FC. Another member of the successful Hartpury team who lifted the ESFA under 18 National Cup last season. He hopes to go on to university and study sports sciences.
11 FABIO GONCALVES De ABREU
Position : Centre Forward.
CSFA : Greater Manchester County Schools F.A.
School : Loreto College, Manchester.
Previous School : St Willibrods Primary School, Clayton. Born : 29 January 1993, Lisbon, Portugal.
Fabio could also play for Portugal and is a keen basketball player and likes to box. Another fan of Christiano Renaldo.
12 CONNOR THOMPSON
Connor has also captained his County team in the FA County Youth Cup and plays for Cirencester. Connor hopes to study either Physical Education or Kineaseiology.
14 JACK SHERRATT
Jack now plays his football at the MMU and Stone Dominoes. He has been with the Port Vale FC School of Excellence. Another possible university candidate with a career in sport at the end of his studies. Also enjoys a round of golf.
15 SCOTT CHEETHAM
Position : Centre Midfield.
CSFA : Greater Manchester County Schools F.A.
School : Nicholls Sixth Form Centre (MANCAT).
Previous School : St Barnabas Church of England, Manchester. Born : 30 December 1992, Manchester.
Scott also plays for F.C. United of Manchester. As a youngster he played in the ESFA Under 12 national final.
16 ALEX MEANEY
Another member of the squad who has played in the F.A. Youth Cup (with Lancaster City). Alex hopes to further his career at university and ultimately find a job in either physiotherapy or a sports related industry.
17 ED BALDY
Ed plays his football for Team Bath. Has also played for Bradford Town who he has represented in the F.A. Vase. Ed is also a keen tennis player but hopes his goalkeeping will be good enough to keep him in the game once he has left college.
18 JONATHAN BARDEN
Jonathan has also represented his County F.A. in the F.A. Youth Cup. He hopes to gain a scholarship to study in the USA. Although a Spurs fan, his favourite player is Steven Gerrard.
19 TOM HURLEY
Tom is on a scholarship at Millfield and has trained with both Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle. Tom has also represented the Independent Schools. He hopes for a sports related career which may or may not involve going to university.
ESFA Under 18 Staff
MR ANDY WILLIAMS
Position : International Team Manager.
Andy Williams has coached at just about every level of football during his twenty years coaching. He cut his teeth coaching with Liverpool Schools' Primary Representative Team working with the likes of Kevin Nolan and Wayne Rooney before later coaching Merseyside U16s where he worked with David Nugent and Leighton Baines. Andy has also coached at the Liverpool FC Academy for thirteen seasons up until 2008 before moving on to the Liverpool FC Ladies senior side as Assistant Manager and coaching in the newly formed FA Women's Super League.
Andy has been the Headteacher of Moorfield Primary School for the past three and a half years; the school has Gary Taylor-Fletcher of Blackpool FC as a former pupil - he himself played in the 1999 England Schoolboys' U18 International Team winning 5 caps. Apart from becoming the ESFA U'18s International Team Manager, Andy's coaching highlights include winning both the ESFA U16s National Title with Merseyside in 2001 and the Centenary Shield with the England Schoolboys in 2009.
MR ANDY BUCKINGHAM
Position : Assistant Manager.
Andy teaches at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School, Blackburn. He took over the Assistant Manager job at the start of the season when Andy Williams was promoted to Team Manager.
A UEFA 'A' Licence coach, Andy has been prominent in ESFA coaching activities for a number of years. He is a lead coach at the ESFA Summer Course and manages teams in both county and district level.
MR SHAUN HEMMING
Position : Goalkeeper Coach.
Shaun is a PE Teacher at Kingley College and is a Redditch UEFA A Licence Coach; and an Aston Villa Academy Coach.
Shaun was a apprentice with Coventry City FC and has played for Warwickshire and Worcestershire Schools’ Under 18 and represented Redditch District Schools’ under 14, 15 and 16. He has also represened British Colleges; British Students – World Students 5 a-sides.
This will Shaun's third season as Goalkeeper Coach.
DR ARTHUR TABOR
Position : Team Doctor.
A retired GP from Hove, Sussex. Club doctor at Brighton when the legendary Brian Clough was the manager. Recruited by the Football Association in the 1980s. Arthur has attended over 400 international matches at all levels. Worked with the ESFA under 15s and under 18s for many years. Arthur’s advice and assistance, particularly on dietary aspects, is priceless.
MR DAVE BURNS
Position : Physiotherapist.
David is Head of College at Aylesbury Vale Academy in Buckinghamshire.
David holds The Football Association Diploma in the Treatment and Management of Injuries. This is The FA's Senior Sports Medicine Award. He has been actively involved with the English Schools' Football Association since 1998.
David has also worked as a Sports' Therapist for the senior youth teams of Charlton Athletic and Gillingham Football Clubs. In addition, David is a Football Association Medical and Safeguarding Children Tutor; a member of the Football Association Society and the Society of Sports' Therapists.
