Monkseaton?s defence of the ESFA U18 Schools? Trophy was complete this afternoon, with a convincing 4-0 scoreline at Barnsley Football Club?s Oakwell Stadium.
A hatrick from Captain and England U18 Schoolboy International, Phil Bannister, and a single strike from Paul King were enough to overcome the school from Somerset, despite their spirited performance.

Both teams had a fair distance to travel to meet up for this particular Final held at Exeter City on Tuesday 08 May. The game was played in a good spirit with the team from Leatherhead turning out to be justified winners thanks to goals from Vicky Vickery (2) and Jo Morris. Middlesbrough sole reply came courtesy of Abbey Lyle. Exeter City Chairman, Ted Ashman, was again in attendance before slipping off to watch his team overcome Oxford United and seize their first ever appearance at Wembley Stadium.
